UAE Air Defences Intercept 4 Ballistic Missiles, 25 Drones Reports Latest Interceptions

The United Arab Emirates’ air defence systems successfully intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones on March 22, 2026, according to an official statement.

Authorities confirmed that the projectiles were launched from Iran, as part of what officials described as ongoing hostile actions targeting the country.

Since the start of the escalation, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,773 drones.

The attacks have resulted in casualties, including the deaths of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty. Additionally, six civilians of various nationalities—including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian—were killed.

A total of 160 people have been injured, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. Those affected include individuals from multiple nationalities such as Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, and Tunisian.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its full operational readiness to respond to any threats. It stressed its commitment to firmly counter any attempts to undermine national security, while ensuring the protection of the country’s sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
