Belgium Urges Restraint After Iran Strikes Southern Israel

Brussels: Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot condemned the impact of Iranian strikes on southern Israel, saying the attacks caused “intolerable suffering and damages” and expressing solidarity with affected civilians.

He urged all parties to avoid targeting civilians and critical infrastructure, calling for “maximum military restraint,” particularly around nuclear-related sites.

The remarks came after Iran launched strikes on the southern Israeli city of Dimona — home to Israel’s main nuclear facility — and the nearby city of Arad on Saturday.

The attacks marked a major escalation in the ongoing conflict, with around 180 people reported injured.
