GCC Secretary-General and Moroccan Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Tensions
On Friday, March 6, 2026, His Excellency Professor Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held a phone conversation with His Excellency Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the call, they discussed unprecedented developments in the region, particularly the aggressive Iranian attacks targeting GCC countries, and the serious implications these actions have for regional and global security and stability.
The Moroccan Foreign Minister strongly condemned the Iranian aggression and expressed Morocco’s full solidarity with GCC countries, affirming the kingdom’s support in addressing any threats to their security, stability, and sovereignty.
In response, the GCC Secretary-General expressed his appreciation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco for the kingdom’s steadfast support of GCC nations. He emphasized that Gulf-Moroccan relations represent an advanced model of strategic partnership and cooperation, grounded in deep historical and fraternal ties, which strengthen regional security and safeguard sovereignty.
