UK and France Signal Readiness to Deploy Troops in Ukraine Following Ceasefire
London: The UK and France have said they are ready to deploy troops to Ukraine once a ceasefire is reached. The announcement came after a Paris summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, where leaders including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a joint declaration on post-war security, with plans to establish military hubs across Ukraine.
Leaders said the troops would not operate on front lines but would help provide stability and support Ukraine’s forces after a ceasefire. While the US backed the plan, Russia has strongly opposed any NATO presence in Ukraine. Several European countries remain cautious, and officials acknowledged that key challenges, including territory disputes and Moscow’s resistance to a ceasefire, still stand.
