Earthquakes Hit Saudi Arabia, Iraq

Riyadh: Two earthquakes struck Saudi Arabia and Iraq on Saturday, with magnitudes of 3.43 and 5.09 on the Richter scale, respectively, according to the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS).

The Saudi Arabian quake was centred approximately 86 km northwest of Harrat Al-Shaqa, a prominent volcanic lava field located between Al-Ais in Madinah and Umluj in Tabuk. No damage or casualties have been reported from either earthquake. The SGS's National Seismic Monitoring Network detected the tremors, with the Iraqi earthquake measuring 5.09 on the Richter scale.
