How One Person Survived the Saudi Arabia Bus Accident That Killed 45
Manama: The tragic bus mishap that claimed the lives of 45 Indian Umrah pilgrims near Madinah on Monday left behind one survivor. 24‑year‑old Mohd Abdul Shoiab survived the accident as he was reportedly sitting beside the driver when the Mecca‑bound bus crashed into a diesel tanker. Shoiab, a native of Hyderabad, India, has been hospitalised; sources indicate his condition remains unconfirmed.
Indian officials said 54 people had travelled from India to Jeddah on November 9 and were scheduled to return on November 23. Four from the group were travelling to Madinah by car and another four stayed back in Mecca. The rest 46 were in the bus that met with the horrific accident.
