Qatar Says It’s Waiting for Israel’s Response on Gaza Truce Proposal

Qatar, which is acting as a mediator in Gaza, said on Tuesday that it is still waiting for Israel to respond to a proposed truce and hostage release deal. The framework was agreed to by Hamas more than a week ago.
“We are still waiting for an answer,” said Majed al-Ansari, a spokesman for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, during a regular news conference. He added that recent statements from Israel “do not fill us with confidence.”
Qatar has been working to broker a peaceful resolution between the two sides, but progress remains uncertain as both parties weigh the next steps.
