Authorities have confirmed that three young sisters found dead near a remote campground in Washington state were murdered by suffocation — a revelation that has deepened the shock surrounding the tragic case and intensified the ongoing search for their father, who remains the primary suspect.

Paityn Decker, 9; Evelyn Decker, 8; and Olivia Decker, 5 were discovered on June 2 near Rock Island Campground, following an urgent search after they failed to return from a court-approved visitation with their father, Travis Decker.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, autopsy results released Monday revealed that the girls died from suffocation and confirmed the manner of death as homicide. Court documents further revealed chilling details: each child was found with a plastic bag over her head and wrists bound with zip ties.

“This was a premeditated and profoundly disturbing act,” officials stated, as the investigation continues to unfold.

Authorities recovered Decker’s truck near the crime scene and reported the collection of a substantial amount of physical evidence from the vehicle, including personal items belonging to the suspect. Among the evidence were bloody handprints found on the truck's tailgate, and blood samples, both human and non-human in origin, which are still undergoing forensic analysis.

“Some of the evidence collected has raised even more questions,” the sheriff's office noted, emphasizing that DNA and fingerprint testing are ongoing.

Decker’s dog, found near the area, has been safely handed over to a local humane society. However, the suspect himself remains at large. Authorities have described him as armed and dangerous, and the nationwide manhunt to bring him to justice has only intensified.

This horrific case has sent shockwaves through the local community and beyond, sparking outrage and sorrow, as the public mourns the loss of three innocent lives.
