Quantum Quest – Science & Computer Science Week celebrated at NMS Bahrain

New Millennium School, Bahrain successfully celebrated Quantum Quest – Science & Computer Science Week 2026 from 10th to 14th May, 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of Grades KG to XII.
The week aimed to foster scientific temper, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and digital literacy through a variety of engaging activities including experiments, model-making, coding challenges, presentations, surveys, quizzes, and project exhibitions.
Students from the Kindergarten section and Primary grades enthusiastically participated in age-appropriate activities such as sink and float experiments, plant life cycle observations, five sense organs scavenger hunts, skittles diffusion experiments, breathing lung models, paper helicopters, floating grapes, water fountains, and typing and coding activities.
Middle and senior school students actively engaged in hands-on science activities such as bridge building, wind anemometer making, pendulum investigations, projectile motion, rusting experiments, yeast fermentation, hydraulic lift models, hologram projection, smart dustbin models, electromagnetic induction demonstrations, and AI-based projects.
Computer Science activities included Blockly games, MakeCode Arcade coding, PowerPoint presentations, mobile app development, debugging competitions, AI exhibitions, mini project expos, and Python-based applications.
A strong focus was placed on cyber safety, sustainability, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through activities such as screen-time awareness surveys, noise pollution studies, plant conservation campaigns, and eco-friendly projects.
A special highlight of the week was the display of students’ exhibits and innovative projects, which were showcased for display. The exhibition provided an opportunity for visitors to appreciate the creativity, scientific understanding, and technological skills demonstrated by the young learners.
Addressing the students, Principal Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma highlighted the importance of scientific inquiry, innovation, and digital competency in preparing learners for the future. He congratulated the students and teachers for their creativity and commendable efforts.
Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director Mrs Geetha Pillai appreciated the students, teachers, and parents for their active participation and applauded the school community for making the event a grand success.
The week reaffirmed the school’s belief that experiential and activity-based learning is essential for progressive education.
