RCSI Medical University of Bahrain Hosts Alumni Reception in Kuwait

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Medical University of Bahrain convened its Alumni Reception in Kuwait City, home to one of the University’s largest alumni communities, with 174 alumni currently based in the State of Kuwait.

The event brought together alumni and senior officials from key national bodies, including His Excellency Dr Bader H. Albusairi, Undersecretary of the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education; His Excellency Dr Jasim Al Ali, at the National Bureau of Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance; and Dr Abdullah Rajab, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Assistant Secretary for Specialised Facilities at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialisations, Ministry of Health.His Excellency Dr Bader H. Albusairi, commented: “RCSI Medical University of Bahrain has consistently supported the training of Kuwaiti doctors to the highest international standards. We value the contribution of its graduates, who continue to support the development of Kuwait’s healthcare sector through enhanced patient care and impactful research.”

Dr Abdulla Rajab highlighted, “Collaboration with institutions such as RCSI Medical University of Bahrain supports high standards of clinical practice, with its graduates continuing to make a meaningful contribution to healthcare delivery across Kuwait.”

Reflecting on his undergraduate experience, Dr Abdullah M. N. S. Alshammari (Class of 2014), Spine Surgery Practice at Alrazi Orthopaedic Hospital, said: “The quality of medical education at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain provided me with a strong academic and clinical foundation as a student I am grateful I was equipped with the skills, confidence and preparedness required to progress into global specialist surgical training and practice.”

Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, stated: "We extend our sincere thanks to the distinguished officials from the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Health, as well as our alumni, for their attendance, continued trust and collaboration. RCSI Medical University of Bahrain remains firmly committed to working closely with both Ministries, Professor Mohamed AlDughaim, Head of the Cultural Office of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and our alumni as valued partners in addressing current and future healthcare challenges, while advancing healthcare delivery and research across Kuwait.”

The Alumni reception in Kuwait reaffirms RCSI Medical University of Bahrain’s role as a hub for medical and healthcare education in the GCC and its commitment to fostering long-term engagement and collaboration with its alumni community.
