Under the generous patronage of Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the “Smile” initiative, an initiative by the Bahrain Future Society for Youth that provides psychosocial support to children with cancer and their families in the Kingdom of Bahrain, hosted a heartfelt ceremony celebrating 53 courageous young survivors who have successfully overcome cancer.

The event, held as part of the “Smile’s Brave Champions” program, was sponsored by BisB, the leading provider of innovative Islamic digital financial solutions for simplifying money matters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as a reflection of the Bank’s deep-rooted commitment to supporting impactful humanitarian initiatives.

The celebration took place on June 1st at the Safeya Ali Kanoo Hub for Arts, attended by Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, alongside several senior bank officials, prominent public figures, initiative volunteers, and the families of the honored children, who filled the venue with a profound sense of joy and emotional warmth.

Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, stated: “Community engagement is a core pillar of our strategic vision at BisB. We are proud to be part of this inspiring initiative that brings hope and joy to the lives of these young heroes and their families. Our partnership with the Smile initiative is a testament to our continued commitment to social responsibility and our support for programs that enhance individual wellbeing and contribute to the betterment of society.”

Sabah Al Zayani, Chairman of the Bahrain Future Society for Youth, commented: “We are proud to collaborate with Bahrain Islamic Bank(BisB) in supporting this meaningful initiative that celebrates the strength and perseverance of children who have overcome cancer. The Brave Champions program reflects our shared commitment to providing comprehensive psychological and social support to survivors and their families, helping them reintegrate into daily life with renewed confidence and optimism.”

BisB has recently formalized a strategic partnership with the “Smile” initiative through a collaboration agreement designed to launch targeted programs that support young cancer survivors. This ceremony stands as a meaningful outcome of that partnership, reflecting the powerful impact of collaboration between civil society organizations and the private sector in advancing humanitarian efforts and fostering a culture of hope, resilience, and social solidarity across the Kingdom.
