Facebook to get rid of its most hated feature and wait… there’s more…
If you are bothered by the creepy, annoying messages by some stalkers, in your ‘other messages inbox’, then it is time you heave a huge sigh of relief!
Facebook has reportedly announced that they have got rid of the ‘other messages’ and plans to bring out a new feature.
The ‘annoying’ feature is reportedly being replaced with a new function called “Message Requests”: another way for people you don’t know to get in touch.
According to an article in the The Independent, the new feature will function as much the same, but people will see a preview of the message and the sender, with the option to either “Ignore” or “Accept” the message.
Facebook engineer David Marcus reportedly explained the feature in a post. “The rule is pretty simple: If you’re friends on Facebook, if you have each other’s contact info in your phone and have these synced, or if you have an existing open thread, the new messages from that sender will be routed to your inbox.
“Now, the only thing you need to talk to virtually anyone in the world, is their name,” Marcus told to Buzzfeed.
The new feature will be available in the social networking site’s standalone messaging app ‘Messenger’.
