One of Abu Dhabi’s newest cultural landmarks, Zayed National Museum has already earned international recognition, including a place on TIME Magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places 2026” list. Designed by renowned architect Norman Foster, the museum explores more than 300,000 years of history while honouring the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Key highlights include the reconstructed Bronze Age Magan Boat and one of the world’s oldest natural pearls, known as the Abu Dhabi Pearl.

Al Ain Museum

Established in 1969, Al Ain Museum was the UAE’s first museum and remains one of the country’s most important heritage destinations. Located within the UNESCO-listed Al Ain Oasis, it showcases archaeological discoveries and artefacts tracing human history in the region from prehistoric times to modern day.

Qasr Al Hosn

Originally built as a watchtower in the 1760s, Qasr Al Hosn is Abu Dhabi’s oldest stone structure and a symbol of the emirate’s transformation. Once home to the ruling family, the fort now serves as a museum featuring artefacts and archival material dating back thousands of years.

Al Maqta’a Museum

Located inside the restored Al Maqta’a Fort, the museum explores Abu Dhabi’s policing and defensive history through vintage vehicles, uniforms and archival collections. Nearby stands the historic Al Maqta’a Tower, one of the emirate’s earliest defensive landmarks.

Delma Museum

Situated on Delma Island in the Al Dhafra Region, Delma Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the UAE’s pearl diving and maritime heritage. Housed in a historic pearl merchant’s home, the museum is surrounded by archaeological sites dating back nearly 7,000 years.
