Woman Sentenced to 15 Years in Matthew Perry Overdose Case
A Los Angeles woman linked to the fatal overdose of Matthew Perry has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, authorities confirmed.
The woman, who was arrested in August 2024, had pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges related to the illegal distribution of drugs. She has remained in federal custody since her arrest.
The case stems from the 2023 death of Perry, best known for his role in the TV show Friends. Investigators found that the drugs supplied by the accused contributed to his fatal overdose.
Prosecutors said the accused continued selling drugs despite being aware of the risks, highlighting what they described as a disregard for human life. The court ultimately handed down a 15-year sentence, followed by a period of supervised release.
Perry, 54, was found dead at his home in Los Angeles in October 2023. His death was later ruled an accidental overdose, bringing renewed attention to issues surrounding substance abuse and illegal drug distribution.
The case remains one of the most high-profile drug-related prosecutions involving a Hollywood figure in recent years.
