Emirates A350 Makes Spectacular Debut at 2025 Dubai Airshow Flypast
Dubai: The Emirates A350 made its debut in an aerial formation, joining the iconic A380 and the Boeing 777 in a stunning display of the UAE’s aviation prowess. The flypast marked the first time the airline’s full fleet took to the skies together since the A350 joined Emirates in November 2024.
The aerial performance showcased a 60-aircraft formation, featuring Emirates at the forefront of the commercial aviation lineup, followed by other UAE carriers and a fleet of military aircraft and helicopters. Spectators at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) were treated to a masterful choreography of precision flight, with the A380 leading at 500 feet, the 777 following at 700 feet, and the new A350 soaring at 900 feet.
The Emirates segment of the showcase was led entirely by Emirati talent. Captain Mubarak Al Mheiri commanded the A380 at the head of the formation, with Captain Ali Almarzooqi piloting the Boeing 777 and Captain Rashed Murshed guiding the A350. The operation was overseen by Captain Khalid Akram, Deputy Chief Pilot Boeing, as part of the Flight Control Committee.
Behind the seamless spectacle was months of meticulous planning and coordination involving Emirates, other UAE airlines, the UAE Ministry of Defence, the military, air traffic controllers, and both the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Every detail—from air traffic patterns to weather conditions—was carefully orchestrated to deliver a flawless display that highlighted the UAE’s leadership in global aviation.
Thousands of attendees were left in awe as the formation soared over Dubai, signaling not just the arrival of a new aircraft, but the UAE’s ongoing ambition to push the boundaries of aviation excellence.
