MINI and Paul Smith Unveil New British-Inspired MINI Paul Smith Edition in Tokyo
MINI and renowned British designer Sir Paul Smith have unveiled the MINI Paul Smith Edition, marking the latest chapter in their longstanding creative partnership. The new edition, revealed at Japan Mobility in Tokyo on October 29, brings Paul Smith’s iconic “classic with a twist” design philosophy to the latest MINI Cooper 3-door, 5-door, and Convertible models.
Building on previous collaborations - the MINI STRIP (2021) and MINI Recharged (2022) - the new edition showcases exclusive exterior colours, bold details, and playful touches that reflect both brands’ shared optimism and creativity.
The car will be available in three distinctive colours: Statement Grey, Inspired White, and Midnight Black Metallic, complemented by Nottingham Green accents, a nod to Paul Smith’s hometown. Signature design elements include a “Signature Stripe” roof detail, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, and subtle Paul Smith branding throughout.
Inside, the MINI Paul Smith Edition combines British elegance and modern craftsmanship, featuring Nightshade Blue Vescin sports seats, striped textiles, and vibrant stitching inspired by Smith’s signature aesthetic. Custom touches like a “Hello” light projection, and the motto “Every day is a new beginning” reinforce the collaboration’s cheerful spirit.
Sir Paul Smith described the project as “a real privilege and a wonderful opportunity to blend new colours and unexpected details that will surprise and delight.”
The partnership between MINI and Paul Smith dates back to 1998, and has produced several iconic designs that merge British heritage with contemporary style -this latest edition continuing that creative legacy.
