UAE’s Flower Market Blooms with 13.7% Growth Expected by 2028

The UAE’s flower market is blossoming, with demand for fresh-cut flowers and ornamental plants on a steep rise. Industry experts predict the market will grow by 13.7% annually until 2028, fueled by the country’s booming events, luxury retail, and hospitality sectors.

To meet this growing interest, MyPlant & Garden Middle East will debut from 15–17 November 2025 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, positioning itself as the region’s leading B2B hub for floriculture and horticulture.

Flowers are now big business in the UAE. Imports exceeded $70 million in 2023, driven by high-profile weddings, international conferences, and the luxury hospitality sector. The Dubai Flower Centre, which handles more than 150,000 tons of floral cargo every year, is helping transform the emirate into a regional hub for the global flower trade.

Local growers are also stepping up production, with a focus on roses and long-lasting varieties such as tulips, gerberas, and chrysanthemums. The country’s booming tourism industry, welcoming over 20 million visitors annually, and its $70 billion regional events sector are creating fertile ground for suppliers looking to tap into a growing “green” economy.

“MyPlant & Garden Middle East will connect international suppliers with the region’s serious buyers,” said Valeria Randazzo, Exhibition Director. “This market is no longer just about beauty—it’s about scale, supply chains, and new business opportunities for nurseries, florists, and outdoor living brands.”

The exhibition, which has already seen success in Milan with over 810 exhibitors and 27,000 visitors from 40 countries, will bring together everything from fresh-cut flowers and ornamental plants to greenhouse technologies, landscaping solutions, and retail innovations.

With the UAE’s flower market entering a golden growth phase, this event aims to drive business partnerships and innovation in one of the world’s most dynamic hubs for floriculture.
