Bahrain win gold, bronze medals in West Asian table tennis

Bahrain’s under-19 women’s team clinched the gold medals in their category at the West Asian Table Tennis Championships, taking place in Amman, Jordan.
It was the first gold of the competition, which features play in various age groups. Led by Maryam Al Aali and Amruta Amit, the Bahrainis clinched their title following a 3-0 sweep of Lebanon in their division final.
Bahrain Table Tennis Association chairman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa congratulated the Bahraini women on their success.
Meanwhile, the men’s team clinched the bronze medals in the seniors category. They came away with their accolades after losing to Jordan 2-3 in the semi-finals.
