Stage set for £500,000 Bahrain International Trophy at REHC

The stage is set for the third running of the £500,000 Group Three Bahrain International Trophy on Friday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC).

Today morning, the post-position draw will take place to determine the starting gates of the 14 participating world-renowned horses. The draw will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain. The spectacular field of contenders has been confirmed.

They include Lord Glitters trained by David O’Meara; Barney Roy and Zakouski both trained by Charlie Appleby; Dubai Future trained by Saeed bin Suroor; Magny Cours trained by Andre Fabre; Pogo trained by Charles Hills; Victory Chime trained by Ralph Beckett; What A Welcome trained by Abduljaleel Al Mallah; Cadillac trained by Mrs John Harrington; Emperor of the Sun, Qaader and Naamoos all trained by Fawzi Nass; Fev Rover trained by Richard Fahey; and Penja trained by Andreas Suborics.

The Bahrain International Trophy will be held over 2,000 metres or 10 furlongs on turf. In addition to Friday’s highly anticipated main event, six other races will take place. They will be for cups from the event’s sponsors Batelco, Bapco and Bahrain EDB.
