Jaber enjoys strong qualifying session

Team Bahrain’s Jaber Al Khalifa enjoyed a strong qualifying session to secure tenth position for the opening race of Round 4 of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at the Dubai Autodrome.

On a notoriously testing track known for pushing every driver to the absolute limits Jaber recorded a typically solid lap time to secure a strong grid position to attack from.

The veteran driver is determined to secure silverware with every opportunity starting this weekend in Dubai and could seal victory in the Bronze category at his home racetrack of Sakhir in less than two months.

After the qualifying round, Jaber said, “Qualifying started really well and the car set up right and the tires felt good. The track at Dubai is one of my favourites as it has everything. Long fast straights and technical corners. I feel comfortable and when it comes to the race I will look after the car from start to finish and just try to seize on any mistakes made ahead of me.”

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has one of the strongest grids ever assembled and setting up intense rivalries throughout the field.

Dubai Autodrome 5.39km Grand Prix Circuit is widely favoured as one of the most challenging and exciting racing tracks in the Middle East and the competition is expected to be intense with the colder conditions this weekend in the UAE and Round 4 features two races of 12 laps
each.
