Bahrain Drag Racing Championship heads into season finale at BIC
Bahrain International Circuit is hosting the fifth and final round of the 2025/2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, with the region’s leading drag racing series set to conclude on Friday, May 1.
The season finale in Sakhir brings an end to another action-packed campaign, featuring high-speed competition along BIC’s quarter-mile strip, part of the global network of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).
This decisive round will crown the new national champions across multiple categories, with winners receiving the prestigious “Wally” trophy. The championship is sanctioned by the NHRA and organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.
Track activities continue this week with a Test and Tune session on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Qualifying follows on Thursday to determine race brackets, with elimination rounds taking place later that evening and continuing into Friday, with racing beginning from 5:00 pm on both days.
Fans are invited to attend the finale, with viewing available from the Start Line Grandstand and the Beyon Grandstand. Tickets are priced at BD5 for the Start Line Grandstand, while Beyon Grandstand access costs BD2 for Test and Tune and BD3 for qualifying and race days. Children aged three to 12 can enter at half price.
Tickets are available online via the official BIC website, through the circuit hotline, or at the venue.
The event features strong participation from drivers across Bahrain and the GCC, competing in 13 classes for both cars and motorcycles. Car categories include Index 10.0, Index 9.0, Index 8.5, Outlaw 6, Index 7.5, Pro 29.5 V8, Comp 4.5, Outlaw 4, and Pro Mod, while motorcycle classes feature Street Fight 9.5, Index 8.5, Pro Street, and Outlaw.
Competitors will battle for the coveted “Wally,” widely regarded as the highest honour in drag racing and named after NHRA founder Wally Parks.
