Bahrain to participate in AIMMAA Championship
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Athletic Association (BAA), has received an invitation from the Chairman of the All India MMA Association (AIMMAA), Jitendra Jain, for the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the Indian Open MMA Championship on January 8-10 alongside with MMA champions from various countries.
His Highness directed the Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) Amateurs Team to participate in this upcoming championship.
His Highness considered the invitation as proof of Bahrain's attaining a position that makes everyone keen for its presence in international championships at all levels. Bahrain has within a short time span inscribed indelible thumbprints in the world-map of MMA sports through its participation and presence in more than one occasion at the level of professionals and amateurs alongside with the world's celebrity MMA champs.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said the Bahraini presence at international sports functions has largely contributed to supporting Bahrain's position on the world map of sports in general and MMA in particular. This affirms the advanced level of Bahrain in the realm of sports and embracing numerous gifted, youthful energies in all sports arenas.
