Shaikh Isa bin Salman Attends Saudi Cup, Highlights Advancements in Horse Racing

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), attended the prestigious Saudi Cup today at the King Abdulaziz Racecourse.

In his remarks, His Highness attributed the advancements in Bahrain’s horse racing sector to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted their commitment to enhancing and developing the sport, which has positioned Bahrain prominently on the international horse racing map.

Highlighting the distinguished participation of Bahraini stables in various international and regional championships, His Highness emphasized that these efforts have resulted in significant sporting achievements, reinforcing Bahrain’s reputation in the equestrian world.

His Highness also acknowledged the progress made in Saudi Arabia’s horse racing sector, crediting the support of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

Recognizing the Saudi Cup as one of the premier horse racing events globally, His Highness commended the participation of Bahraini stables in this prestigious race, affirming Bahrain’s commitment to competing in international and regional events, which are essential for advancing the sport within the Kingdom.

His Highness expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the High Equestrian Commission and the Horse Racing Club in Saudi Arabia, for his efforts in promoting the sport. He extended his best wishes for Saudi Arabia’s continued success in horse racing.

At the Saudi Cup, several Bahraini horses showcased their talent in three rounds, competing against a field of elite international competitors. Notable performances included:

  • Cracksking of Al Adiyat Racing, securing second place in the fifth round of the Saudi International Handicap Cup over a distance of 2100 meters.
  • Qaadar of Al Raifga Stables finishing third in the same round.
  • Calif of Victorious claiming second place in the sixth round, held over the Howden Neom Turf Cup at 2100 meters.
  • Geomon, owned by Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, finishing third in the seventh round over the 1351 Turf Sprint Cup.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman extended his congratulations to the winners and wished the best of luck to all participants in their future races.
