Mathematics Week at NMS-DPS

Manama : ‘Mathema’ or Mathematics is not only ‘the bone’ of most of the Science subjects but also ‘the oxygen’ for all subjects. 

Believing in this maxim, the fervent students along with the passionate team of Mathematics teachers of New Millennium School- DPS Bahrain, celebrated ‘Manthan’ – the Mathematics Week, from October 29 to November 2, 2017. The motto behind the celebration was to augment the understanding of Mathematics to infinity and beyond.

An array of activities was conducted for all the grades from KG – XII, to bring out the significance of the subject in our day to day life. These activities were designed to facilitate students change the phobia about the subject into a pleasing thought. Students prepared innovative Mathematical models, conducted quiz sessions, constructed 3D images through Origami, solved puzzles, prepared power point presentations and displayed posters depicting its theme. In order to tickle the analytical skills of children a Math Aptitude Test (MAT) was also conducted during the week.

The week was a great success as it touched upon all the nuances of Mathematics through students’ involvement and innovative thinking. The week also witnessed a special assembly which showcased their analytic instinct and helped them channelise their enthusiasm towards mathematical creativity. It also motivated their inquisitive minds to appreciate the subject closely.

Chairman Dr. Ravi Pillai, Managing Director Geetha Pillai and Principal Arun Kuumar Sharma complimented the students for their excellent performance in the Mathematics week and appreciated the efforts of all the parents and teachers for the successful completion of this special week.
