Bahrain’s tourism in the spotlight at SATTE 2020, India

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has concluded its first participation in the 26th edition of South Asia’s leading travel show, SATTE 2020, which took place at India Expo Mart, in Greater Noida, Delhi, between the 8th and 10th of January, 2020.

The delegation of Bahrain held a series of productive meetings in which they promoted the Kingdom as a leading tourism destination; whether for individuals, wedding celebrations or Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).

“As we strive to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain and enhance its position on the global tourism map, we look forward to participating in various regional and international events in the future,” commented Acting Director of Marketing and Tourism Promotion Directorate at BTEA, Dr Ali Follad.

The BTEA delegation met with several prominent travel agents and companies specialized in organizing conferences in India, which included Sports Konnect, Aaryan Leisure and Holidays, Easemytrip.com, Carewell Travels, JTB and Pegasus Investment. One lucky winner won two tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race, two airline tickets from Gulf Air and a stay at a five-star hotel, after participating in the ‘Fastest Lap’ competition, which was organised by Bahrain Pavilion.

The delegation of Bahrain, headed by Acting Director of Marketing and Tourism Promotion Directorate at BTEA, Dr Ali Follad, consisted of several representatives from BTEA and Gulf Air, in addition to leading luxury hotels, including The Ritz-Carlton, Al Areen Palace and Spa, Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa, and several travel agents such as Best of Bahrain, Mathias Tours, and Farhat International Tours and Travels.

Each year, to promote their tourism offerings and establish commercial and business partnerships, this annual event witness the participation of more than 1,000 participants from over 50 countries, 28 Indian states, and 90 cities from across India.
