KPMG in Bahrain and Cygnet. One Host Seminar on e-Invoicing Readiness for Bahrain Businesses

KPMG in Bahrain, in collaboration with Cygnet. One, hosted an exclusive breakfast seminar titled “Bahrain e-invoicing Readiness: Practical Lessons from Market-Leading Practices”. The seminar encouraged Finance, Tax, Technology and Operations leaders to explore the evolving landscape of digital tax transformation across the GCC region. With  more than 220 business leaders in attendance, the event provided an open and interactive forum to discuss implementation considerations, address key concerns and clarify the overall e-invoicing readiness process.

As e-invoicing frameworks across the region move towards activation - with Saudi Arabia's FATOORA system already in effect and developments underway in the UAE and Oman - Bahrain businesses have a unique window of opportunity to learn from regional implementation experiences and begin preparing for future requirements. The seminar provided practical insights into the implementation process of e-invoicing that will impact business, tax and technology related policies and processes. The session drew on the lessons learned from the phased implementation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mubeen Khadir – Quote – "Digital tax transformation is one of the most significant shifts finance, tax and IT functions will navigate in the years ahead. With Saudi Arabia's e-invoicing regime well established and the UAE and Oman moving to mandatory phases from 2027, Bahrain businesses have a rich set of regional lessons to draw on - and many already have first-hand exposure. Preparing early is no longer optional - e-invoicing will fundamentally change how businesses deal with their suppliers, customers and the tax authority."

Niraj Hutheesing – Quote – “As Bahrain continues its digital transformation, e-Invoicing presents businesses with an opportunity to modernize the way they operate. The real value lies in bringing together high-quality data, secure technology, connected business systems and effective reconciliation between VAT returns and e-Invoicing data. This strengthens confidence in reporting, reduces compliance risks and enables better business decisions. At Cygnet. One, we are committed to helping organizations achieve 100% Tax Assurance by building the right foundations for successful e-Invoicing adoption. Beyond regulatory compliance, these capabilities enhance operational resilience, strengthen trust in financial data and support Bahrain's vision of a more transparent, efficient and digitally connected economy.

The seminar featured experts from KPMG in Bahrain and Cygnet. One, covering topics including an overview of the FATOORA framework, implementation challenges, technology integration, leading practices, and actions pertaining to practical readiness for business leaders in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was an interactive seminar with attendees gaining a better understanding of how e-invoicing is evolving across the GCC, the practical challenges, key capabilities that may be impacted, and the steps businesses can take today to enhance their readiness.

Designed for CFOs, Finance and Tax leaders, CIOs, ERP and Data owners, Procurement professionals and Compliance leaders, the seminar’s aim was to help organizations prepare for the next phase of Digital Tax Transformation by emphasizing the importance of early planning, strong data governance and technology readiness.
