CONNECT, CREATE, COMMUNICATE: A CELEBRATION OF EXPRESSION @ NMS BAHRAIN

he New Millennium School, Bahrain, celebrated English Week from 26th to 29th April 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across all grades. The celebration was based on the theme “Connect, Create & Communicate,” reflecting the importance of language as a bridge that connects ideas, cultures, and minds in today’s dynamic world.

The week-long fiesta was thoughtfully designed to provide a hybrid learning experience, integrating both classroom and digital participation. A wide array of engaging and innovative activities enabled students to strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while exploring language in creative and meaningful ways.

Students from various grades participated in a diverse range of activities such as creative writing, storytelling, comic creation, podcasting, blog and newspaper writing, debates, monologues, CV making, travel blogs, digital storytelling, and short movie creation. Activities like Table Topics, News Reporting, Radio Shows, Podcast/Mock Interviews, and Sports Commentary provided a platform for enhancing spontaneous speaking and collaborative skills.

The younger students showcased their creativity through activities like Expression of Gratitude, Story in a Bag, Bookmark and Quote Creation, and Pictionary with Idioms, while middle school students engaged in Picture Stories, Creative Expression, and Character-based presentations. Senior students demonstrated critical thinking and research skills through Crossword creation, Story Retelling, Biography writing, Debate forums, and Digital Storyboards.

A special highlight of the week was the integration of digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams, enabling students to present podcasts, vlogs, digital journals, and recorded performances. The activities encouraged originality, collaboration, and responsible expression, adhering to values of inclusivity and respect.

Principal Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma commended the students for their creativity, confidence, and active involvement. He emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in developing effective communicators and critical thinkers, and appreciated the dedication of the faculty and the continued support of parents in ensuring the success of the programme.

Chairman Dr. Ravi Pillai and Managing Director Mrs. Geetha Pillai lauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the collective efforts of teachers and parents in making the event a resounding success.

The celebration successfully nurtured confidence, creativity, and communication skills among students, inspiring them to express themselves effectively and develop a lifelong appreciation for the English language.
