A delegation from the Qatar Chamber visited the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to observe the Chamber’s experience in managing sectoral committees. This visit aimed to enhance cooperation and share expertise between the two chambers, focusing on improving organizational practices that benefit the private sector.

Vice-Treasurer and Head of the Coordinating Group for the Chamber’s Sectoral Committees, Waleed kanoo, welcomed the Qatari delegation.

He explained that the Chamber’s operations are based on continuous consultation and review, focusing on several key areas, including protecting private sector interests and strengthening partnerships with the government. He added that the Chamber also collaborates with the private sector to address various challenges.

Kanoo highlighted that the Chamber functions as an integrated system to achieve the goals of the current administrative cycle.

He pointed out the new system adopted for selecting the heads and members of the ten sectoral committees, which is based on principles of transparency and efficiency, ensuring balanced and effective representation across different economic sectors.

The meeting also showcased Bahrain Chamber’s experience in organizing the annual sectoral committees conference, which has evolved over the years into an international platform called the Bahrain Gateway Forum.

This forum brings together economic leaders, experts, and decision-makers to discuss significant local, regional, and international economic issues.

The delegation also learned about the Chamber’s initiative, the “Jadara Award,” the first of its kind among Gulf chambers, aimed at encouraging sectoral committees to excel in performance and contribute to the national economy and business environment.
