Bahrain to boost strategic US military, defence ties

Bahrain is committed to further strengthening its strategic partnership with the US to achieve common goals, particularly regarding military and defence matters.
This was emphasised by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, as he received yesterday the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, the United States Fifth Fleet, and the Combined Maritime Forces, Vice Admiral Charles B. Cooper II, at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Minister of Interior, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting. HRH Prince Salman commended the two countries’ ongoing bilateral cooperation, highlighting the efforts of the US and allied countries to maintain regional security and stability.
During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments were discussed.
