Filipino doctor killed in road accident
A Filipino doctor was killed on Thursday evening in an accident in Jidhafs. after she was ran over by a flatbed truck while trying to cross the road.
According to social media reports, the deceased was identified as Mary Ann Ibrahim, a paediatrician working in Bahrain International Hospital.
The accident occurred at 7.30pm and she was declared dead at the spot.
A security camera footage showing the moments of the deadly crash had gone viral.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed the incident in its official Twitter account, saying that police is investigating at the scene.
Hospital officials were not available for comment.
