HRH PM’s patronage of Arab meet lauded
The Kingdom will host the Ministerial Conference on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 in the Arab States on December 6-7, 2015, under the auspices of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
It was broached in the 66th session of the Executive Board of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers’ Council, held at the headquarters of the Arab League’s Secretariat-General here. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan led the Kingdom’s delegation to the meeting.
The agenda of the session also featured the preparations for regular Arab summits in the fields of economic and social development. The Post- 2015 Sustainable Development Agenda in the Arab region and other issues such as reducing poverty rate and allocating more interest in the sustainable development programmes were also discussed.
The session also discussed the Arab Covenant of Civil Society Organisations (2015- 2025), issues related to people with disabilities and putting forward a unified Arab quiz to measure the elderly quality of life, proposed by Bahrain.
The Labour and Social Development Minister hailed the decision to hold the Ministerial Conference in Manama, under HRH Premier’s patronage.
The Minister praised the Arab Social Development Ministers’ lauding of the key role played by HRH the Prime Minister in the field of sustainable development, and his patronage of the such an important Arab gathering. The Minister welcomed his Arab counterparts’ participation in the Manama conference.
He said that HRH Premier had placed the Kingdom of Bahrain at the top of countries which are keen on achieving sustainable development.
The session also discussed issues related to Arab social work and providing relief aid for Yemen.
