‘Gulf States never hesitate to fight terror’
The Ambassador of Bahrain to UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, said the Gulf States would never hesitate to combat terrorism and eradicate it to achieve the security and stability of the region.
He was addressing an audience comprising Defence and Intelligence experts on the topic “Islamic Extremism and Expansionism”. He was invited to speak at
the event by Commandant at the Royal College of Defence Studies and former Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sir Tom Philips.
Shaikh Fawaz highlighted the counterterrorism measures in response to combat extremism and terrorism and dry up its source and funding resources.
He noted the efforts exerted by the Saudi –led Arab coalition in defending the legitimacy in Yemen. He stressed that the Gulf region and the rest of the world are facing a real threat. “Achieving peace in these areas is impossible without competent and effective intelligence and military effort.”
Shaikh Fawaz stressed the vital role played by Western states in helping the Gulf States in fighting extremism.
