The film entitled “Expressive Bahraini Models in the Face of COVID-19” has participated in the “Women’s Film Week” organised by the Jordanian Royal Film Commission under the patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Basma bint Talal, the UN Goodwill Ambassador, in partnership with UN Women.

Produced by the Supreme Council for Women, the film shows the major role Bahraini women are playing in the face of the pandemic, especially on the front ranks, as well as their commitment and sacrifices.

The film is composed of three short stories with the first one showcasing the role of a woman in the health sector and the redoubled efforts that she makes to balance her family and work duties.

The second story is about the importance of family support that the father embodies in carrying the daily burdens with his wife in caring for children.

The third story deals with the role of a teacher in this critical period and her efforts to support families by developing creative methods through the use of technology to ensure that children are not disconnected from the educational environment.

The stories, which provide expressive and influential examples of the giving of women in the society during the pandemic, summarises their ability to make a big difference in times of challenges by highlighting their best to preserve the stability of the society and their families.

The plot of the film also takes into account the importance of clarifying the general context in which women work under its larger umbrella, through a brief presentation of the official statistics that show the size of women’s participation in the front lines.
