Bahrain has reiterated its steadfast support for international and regional efforts to promote peace, security, and respect for international law during a high-level parliamentary meeting in Geneva.

The Bahraini parliamentary delegation emphasized that the Kingdom’s foreign policy is guided by the principles of the United Nations Charter, prioritizing political and peaceful solutions, supporting UN-led initiatives, and backing multilateral mediation efforts. The delegation noted that adherence to international law is the key to global stability and a safeguard against conflicts.

Bahrain also reaffirmed its commitment to constructive cooperation with friendly and allied nations, reflecting the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The delegation highlighted that sustainable development can only be achieved in an environment of security, stability, and mutual respect among nations.

The statements came during Bahrain’s participation in a high-level meeting titled “Upholding the UN Charter and International Law to Ensure Global Peace and Security”, hosted by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on the sidelines of the 6th Conference of Speakers of Parliament, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva from July 29 to 31.

Bahrain’s delegation was led by First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, MP Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, and Dr. Bassam Ismail Al Binmohammed, member of the Shura Council’s Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee.

The delegation stressed that Bahrain’s legislative authority actively supports the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in reinforcing international law through national legislation. They added that Bahrain’s upcoming membership in the UN Security Council for 2026–2027 reflects the Kingdom’s growing global role and the international community’s trust in its balanced and peace-driven approach.

Finally, the delegation underlined that parliamentary partnerships play a crucial role in promoting human values and fostering international cooperation, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to participating in global initiatives that strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and collective peace efforts.
