Anti-government protesters came under fierce criticism yesterday after a video circulated online showing rioters attacking an expatriate family. The incident reportedly occurred in 2012, but the newly uploaded video was a shocking news to many viewers. Youtube channel ‘Bahrainforums’ uploaded the video last Saturday, and it has been viewed about 3000 times. The video shows an SUV vehicle reversing from a road blocked by rioters. Rioters could be seen preparing to throw burning Molotov cocktails at the vehicle. As the video concludes, the victims, reportedly a German family, explained their ordeal saying, “One of the guys threw Molotov cocktails at my car. I reversed my vehicle to escape. We went around the signal but came across another 10 demonstrators. As I drove away, they threw a Molotov cocktail at my car again.”speaking to DT News Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society General Secretary Faisal Fulad said such acts of violence are nothing short of terrorism. “When innocent civilians are targeted, there is no justification to it. They are terrorists who pretend to be peaceful demonstrators. This video will serve evidence for the UN and international human rights organizations,” he said.“We are documenting all these violation and are going to hand them over to the human rights organisations,” he added.
