Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to the COVID-19 preventive measures has yielded a 45 per cent decline in active coronavirus patients, especially during the past four weeks. “This decrease over the past period also indicates that the Kingdom is moving in the right direction,” said His Royal Highness, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa praising the high-level of precautionary restraint observed over the past month. The Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister attributed the successful reduction in the active patients to the “perseverance and dedication” of citizens and residents here.

Bahrain brought down the number of active patients from 6,885 on September 17, 2020 to 3,773 on October 14, 2020. Prince Salman said this reduction was mainly due to the commitment shown by people during the past four weeks. Bahraini authorities launched its #Commit4Bahrain campaign on September 17 urging all to adhere strictly to the measures outlined to battle the virus after detecting a spike in virus cases following the Ashoora season. The reduction in caseloads achieved in over 27 days, HRH CP said, shows the “importance of the civic responsibility shared by all to continue following measures to safeguard one’s family and the wider community.”

On this note, the Crown Prince called on citizens and residents to continue following measures to maintain the downward trajectories of cases. To eradicate the virus, HRH CP said, all of us should continue to follow and observe the precautionary measures issued by both the National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Ministry of Health. HRH the Crown Prince reiterated his gratitude to first responders, including medical professionals and supporting staff, for their continued efforts towards combatting the spread of the virus and safeguarding all in the Kingdom.

Congratulating the “commitment of all, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in a statement said, ”Protecting yourself and your family through preventative action has a tangible effect on protecting the community of Bahrain.”
