The Al Hilal Healthcare group discharged their 500th COVID-19 patient yesterday, marking a landmark achievement in Bahrain’s fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The discharged patient, an expatriate male, was tested negative and had completed the stipulated isolation period as guided by the Ministry of Health when he walked out of the isolation centre.
Currently, there are three COVID-19 isolation facilities managed by Al Hilal, housing a total of more than 650 positive cases. The medical team consists of consultants from different specialties, specialist doctors, general practitioners, nurses and counsellors.
They have been working with the national “COVID war room team”, Ministry of Health, NHRA and Public Health Directorate to ensure that each patient receives the necessary care. Al Hilal CEO, Dr Sharath Chandran said that “as a health care provider and an organization that manages the highest number of COVID positive cases from the labour workforce in Bahrain, Al Hilal has been proactive to take steps to educate and partner with corporate organizations in tackling this pandemic.”
“During these challenging times, we have decided to support the community at large to choose private isolation facilities at very reasonable prices. Currently, it’s being offered at two facilities,” said Al Hilal regional business head, Mr Asif Mohammed. The pricing starts at BD25 and BD30 per person including basic services and 24x7 medical attention, he added.
Dr Chandran expressed his gratitude towards the support from the Bahraini leadership and HRH Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
“I would also like to congratulate and appreciate everyone from the COVID war room under the able leadership of HRH Shaikh Salman, the Health Ministry team, NHRA & public health directorate for their indefatigable support to Al Hilal Healthcare group in managing these COVID positive cases,” he said.
