Proposal for new sports club in Hamad Town

The Northern Municipal Council proposed the establishment of a model sports club in Hamad Town yesterday. The Council vice-chairman Yassin Zainal proposed to establish a new model sports club in Hamad to provide a platform for young talented athletes, cultivate their talents and support the national teams in the Kingdom.
The sports club is to include various sports like football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and other games. Zainal said that the typical Hamad Town Youth Centres do not meet the needs of the locals and they require a sports club that they can access without travelling long distances.
He explained that whoever wants to play in the youth centre stadiums has to hire it for an hour or two for a fee and it does not include all sports. Zainal added that local youth and parents have been demanding a new club for a while now but no land had been allocated for its establishment until now.
Zainal also pointed out the contributions of players from Sakana, Hamad Town during the achievement of the West Asia and Arab Gulf Cup championships.
