Work at social facilities projects are progressing according to the schedule set in the Government Action Plan 2019-2022, according to Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Al Humaidan. In this regard, the minister said yesterday that work is underway in five construction projects implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

The projects include the Budaiya Comprehensive Community Centre, the Parent Daycare Club in Jidhafs, the A’Ali Comprehensive Disability Complex, the Comprehensive Social Care Complex in Hamad Town, and the Comprehensive Social Services Complex in Isa Town. The minister said that these facilities will serve various social segments, including people with special needs and senior citizens, as well as cater to the needs of families. Al Humaidan extended thanks to all partners and sponsors of such development projects, including the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for financing the construction of A’Ali Comprehensive Disability Complex, the Comprehensive Social Care Complex and the Comprehensive Social Services Complex.

He also paid tribute to Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) for financing the largest part of the costs of the Budaiya Comprehensive Community Centre. Meanwhile, the Labour Minister yesterday called on officials in the private sector to invest in the national workforce by using the coaching method to boost their roles and adopt their creative ideas. He stressed support for the national efforts and the specialised non-government organisations in the training field to boost performance and competence. The Labour and Social Development Minister was speaking remotely during the opening of the 4th annual Training and Coaching Forum, which has been organised under his patronage by the Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD), marking Bahrain Coaching Day.

The two-day event has been organised this year for the first time via e-communication with local, Gulf and Arab participation. Themed “Coaching Towards Building a Balanced Leadership”, the conference aims to enhance awareness of the importance of coaching for leading personalities in Bahrain amidst the current challenges. The Labour Minister praised the keenness of the BSTD to continue with the forum, lauding Bahraini capabilities. He expressed hope that the forum will provide the opportunity to discuss related issues and get informed about the best experiences in this respect.
