Camping season for 2015-16 announced

The camping season for 2015-16 will begin on October 22 and will conclude by March 5, 2016, officials informed yesterday.
This was announced in a meeting of the Supreme Camping Committee, which was presided by Southern Governorate Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, who also informed that registration periods will be announced later.
In the meeting, discussions were held on several related topics, including cooperation between different government authorities and private sector establishments to ensure a safe and a successful season this year.
Officials also discussed the security plan set by Interior Ministry. They highlighted the suggested procedures to ensure smooth traffic flow in the camping areas, especially during weekends and public holidays, in addition to the registration of dirt bikes and buggies.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Best Camp Award, which is annually organised and encourages campers to commit to safety and security conditions, and preservation of wildlife and the environment were also broached in the meeting.
