Owners of industrial plots, who still violate rules, beware as it can lead you to trouble.
In a press statement, Industry and Commerce Ministry stated that Industrial Areas Directorate notified the industrial plot owners on the need to remove the irregularities at their establishments.
According to the ministry, the violations were apparently related to not paying rent, subcontracting, labour accommodation issues, unpermitted cease of operations in the facility, activities infringing the lease agreement, operating with an expired lease contract, waste management and other irregularities.
The ministry said that all violators who operate in the areas that are supervised by the ministry were given one-month notice to remove irregularities.
“These areas included Hidd Industrial Area, Mina Salman Industrial Area, North Sitra Industrial Area, Al Maameer Industrial Area, Northern Refinery Industrial Area, Sitra Roundabout Industrial Area and South Alba Industrial Area,” the ministry stated.
“Some companies responded to these notices by removing the violations and took the opportunities to correct their legal status. The ministry expresses its appreciation to all who responded with the regulations and procedures and calls upon those who have not yet initiated the removal of irregularities to quicken correcting their status, in order to avoid legal accountability,” the ministry added.
The statement explained “The procedures were based on the law and regulations followed by the Directorate of Industrial Areas at the ministry, and based on Decree Law 28 for 1999 on establishing and organising industrial areas and its regulations.”
