Miscreants set MP’s car on fire
Manama
Miscreants set a vehicle belonging to an MP on fire in the village of Ma’ameer yesterday. The Nissan vehicle was torched by a number of people and the initial reports confirmed that it’s owned by an MP.
Civil Defense personnel put out the fire before it spread to the neighboring houses. Ministry of Interior has also confirmed the arson attack on their Twitter account and pointed out that it was criminally-motivated. “Meanwhile, no casualities have been reported in the incident,” said officials.
Bahrain has witnessed several similar incidents since the legislative and municipal elections last year. Among the targeted MPs in the previous attacks include Abdulmajeed Alasfoor and Jalal Kadhem, whose vehicles were set on fire. On April 26, four teenagers accused of carrying out arson attacks during last year’s elections were sentenced to one-year in jail.
