Final Race of 2025 Emirates Villages Run Series Concludes in Al Shuwaib
The Emirates Council for Balanced Development wrapped up the seventh and final race of the 2025 Emirates Villages Run Series in Al Shuwaib, Abu Dhabi, as part of the “Year of Community” initiatives under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The event saw widespread participation from families, children, youth, senior citizens, and People of Determination, reflecting a national effort to promote balanced development with the community at its heart. The final race coincided with the UAE’s 54th Union Day celebrations, adding a festive atmosphere with artistic performances, heritage displays, and cultural activities that highlighted Emirati traditions.
Participants enjoyed cultural performances by local artistic and folk groups, offering a glimpse into Al Shuwaib’s heritage while also promoting tourism in the area. Winners in various categories were awarded during a ceremony attended by:

The National Agricultural Centre supported the event with a Farmers’ Market, showcasing local agricultural products, modern farming techniques, and organic goods, while also distributing free seedlings to participants. The race highlighted Al Shuwaib’s natural beauty, rural heritage, and agricultural landscape, offering an immersive experience for visitors.
The 2025 series included seven races across all seven emirates: Qidfa (Fujairah), Masfout (Ajman), Al Rams (Ras Al Khaimah), Falaj Al Mualla (Umm Al Quwain), Dibba Al Hisn (Sharjah), Al Lisaili (Dubai), and Al Shuwaib (Abu Dhabi). Over 5,000 participants joined the series, competing for a total prize pool of AED 500,000.
Race distances catered to all ages and abilities, including a 1.5 km Family Run, a 5 km Community Run, and a 10 km Competitive Run. The series, organised in partnership with ADNOC and in collaboration with local sports councils, municipalities, and tourism authorities, aimed to promote healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and the cultural and natural richness of UAE villages.
The Emirates Villages Run Series reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of balanced development, combining sports, culture, heritage, and community values across the country.
