Gulf man drowns in Juffair

A man drowned yesterday in the capital, after he apparently drove his vehicle into water.
Interior Ministry confirmed on its official Twitter page that the deceased, a Gulf national, drowned after his car fell in the sea in Juffair area, adding that the concerned departments have initiated ordinary procedures at the site.
Eyewitnesses said the man was stuck inside the vehicle and policemen had to dive into the water to bring his body out. The man was declared dead on site.
A video was circulating online, showing the Interior Ministry’s crane pulling the car out of the water.
No further information was available about the deceased.
