Bahrain's U16 team crushes Tunisia 93–70, faces Egypt tonight
From the opening tip at Cairo International Stadium, Bahrain looked like a side unwilling to flirt with complacency. A 30-21 first quarter left Tunisia, fresh off losses to Algeria and Egypt and in dire need of a win, struggling to respond. Bahrain’s relentless pace led to a 48-35 halftime advantage, setting a tone Tunisia never managed to disrupt.
Patrick’s Towering Night
Somoto Patrick was the beating heart of Bahrain’s dominance. He scored an impressive 28 points, continuing his strong tournament performance. More staggering was his haul of 27 rebounds, a personal rebounding clinic that repeatedly snuffed out Tunisian momentum before it could spark. It wasn’t a one-man show though, as Hassan Fouad dropped 23 points with an efficiency that kept Tunisia’s defence guessing, while Hassan Showefi added 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Tunisia’s Lone Bright Spark
For Tunisia, Adam Al Rafrafi was defiant in defeat. His 25 points kept the scoreboard respectable, but with just five rebounds and limited support — Zaid Obaidi’s 10 points aside — the gulf in physicality told. Tunisia were out-rebounded across the board and struggled to match Bahrain’s precision in transition.
