Keeping the Spirit of India Alive in Bahrain
At St. Peter’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Bahrain, we join Indians everywhere in remembering the struggles, sacrifices, and vision that gave us our freedom. For us, Independence Day is more than a date on the calendar - it is a living reminder of the values that bind us together as a nation: unity, justice, and compassion. It is also a call to keep those values alive and relevant, no matter where in the world we live.
Here in Bahrain, our parish works to live out that spirit through prayer, service, and fellowship. We organise charitable initiatives to support the less fortunate, encourage harmony among people from all walks of life, and hold cultural programmes that help our younger generations stay connected to their roots. We want our children to grow up with a deep pride in their heritage, but also with a heart open to serving the wider world with integrity, empathy, and respect.
As we celebrate this special day, we look ahead with hope, committed to keeping the light of freedom burning bright - not just in speeches or ceremonies, but in the choices we make and the lives we touch every single day.
