To build a better future

Mohamed Ahyan

Grade 5 A,

The New Horizon School.

India got its freedom in 1947, many years before I was born. But I feel proud every time I see our flag flying high. Freedom didn’t come easy. Brave people fought, went to jail, and gave their lives so we can live freely today.

For me, honouring freedom means respecting our country, following rules, and being kind. It also means using freedom the right way — by learning, helping others, and caring for the Earth.

When I grow up, I want to be someone who helps others and makes India proud. I dream of inventing something that saves water and helps poor people grow food. I believe we must use our freedom to build a better future.

They were stubborn even though they suffered. They were stubborn even though they were killed.

Until they got what they wanted, they never stopped trying. So nothing comes with ease, nothing comes without trying.

This inspires me to never give up — because their courage gave us freedom, and now it is our turn to make India stronger. If we all do our part, the future will be full of peace, kindness, and pride.

More than just a word

Nandana Sudheesh,

Garde 11 D.

The Asian school Freedom is more than just a word—it is the heartbeat of our nation. It was earned through the courage, sacrifice, and vision of countless brave hearts who dared to dream of an independent India. From the silent strength of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence to the fiery resolve of revolutionaries, our freedom was built on hope and resilience.

Today, as we honour this priceless gift, we must ask: what will we contribute to the future?

Freedom is not just a legacy to remember, but a responsibility to uphold. It means standing up for what is right, embracing diversity, protecting our environment, and ensuring justice and opportunity for all. The future we inspire must be built on values of unity, innovation, and compassion.

As young citizens, we are the bridge between the dreams of the past and the promise of tomorrow. Let us carry the flame of freedom forward—with pride in our history and a determination to shape a better India for generations to come.

It’s a responsibility

Freedom is more than the absence of chains – it is the presence of dignity, choices and dreams. As India celebrates other glorious Independence Day, we remember the sacrifices of countless heroes who gave us the freely, honouring the legacy means preserving the values they stood for, such as: UNITY, COURAGE and JUSTICE.

But Freedom is not just a memory, It’s also a responsibility. As young citizens, we must shape a future that reflects the dreams of those who fought for us. A future where innovation thrives, education empowers, and equality is real for every Indian.

Today we are the beneficial boundaries of their struggle. Tomorrow, we must be the torch bearers of Progress.

Let us honour our freedom by using it wisely – to learn, to question, and to build. Let us inspire the future by being honest, kind and brave because the best tribute to our past is to create a future that is worthy for it.

Independence is a priceless gift earned through immense sacrifice, courage, and unity. As we celebrate Indias freedom, we pay tribute to the brave souls who dreamed of a free nation – and gave everything to make it real. their stories continue to inspire us, reminding us that true freedom is not just about rights, but also about responsibilities.
