Cabinet to hold extraordinary session today

The Cabinet will hold an extraordinary session today, to review and approve the Government Action Plan (GAP) before referring it to the Council of Representatives, Cabinet Secretary-General Dr Yasser Al Nasser said yesterday.

The session will also discuss the reports submitted by specialised committees as well as their proposals regarding the priorities included in the Government Action Plan (GAP), in parallel with the Fiscal Balance Programme, so as to meet the needs of citizens and residents, continue development and affirm Bahrain’s sustainable economic development. The GAP aims to bring welfare to citizens by achieving development goals that transcend all sectors.

All ministries have been directed towards achieving the results of GAP while also striving towards attaining the sustainable goals, which form the integral part of Bahrain Vision 2030. The Kingdom of Bahrain already included 78 per cent of the UN-SDGs programme in the Government Action Plan. Bahrain is currently implementing five fully-integrated residential cities, including educational, health, security and commercial amenities as part of the GAP.
