Bahrain Hosts GCC Municipal Award Jury Meeting

Kingdom convenes sixth-edition judging session under its GCC presidency

Bahrain is hosting the jury committee meeting for the sixth edition of the GCC Municipal Award (2025–2026), held on July 13–14, with participation from jury members and representatives of the GCC General Secretariat. The meetings are being organised by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture.

Minister Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak said the hosting reflects Bahrain's commitment to Gulf joint action and advancing integration in the municipal sector, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting sustainable urban development across member states.

He described the award as a key Gulf platform for encouraging excellence and innovation in municipal work and spreading best practices.

39 Entries Received

The sixth edition drew 39 submissions from municipalities across GCC member states, reflecting growing momentum in the sector.

This Year's Theme: Sustainable Urban Greening

The edition focuses on best practices in urban tree planting, covering green space expansion, modern irrigation, recycled water use, community engagement, and air quality improvement.

Winners will be announced at the GCC Municipal Ministers meeting scheduled for September.
