United Against Regional Threats
President El-Sisi reiterates Egypt's support for Bahrain's sovereignty.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at Sakhir Palace. They reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and Egypt and discussed the latest regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with several senior ministers.
The King praised Egypt's pivotal role in the Middle East, describing it as a cornerstone of regional security and stability. He also commended Egypt's steadfast support for Bahrain and its solidarity with the Kingdom in the measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the latest regional and international developments, focusing particularly on the evolving situation in the region and its implications for peace and stability. They exchanged views on ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing the challenges facing the region.
President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's strong condemnation of the continued Iranian attacks on Bahrain, describing them as a violation of state sovereignty, international law, and established international norms, as well as a threat to regional and international peace and security.
HM King Hamad and President El-Sisi also reaffirmed their support for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemns Iran's attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The resolution calls for the immediate cessation of all such attacks and provocations and affirms the inherent right of GCC countries and Jordan to defend themselves against Iranian aggression.
